On December 17^th, 2010, Faculty of Accounting and Auditing (FAA), University of Economics and Law (UEL), held a scientific conference named “Improving the quality of education to meet the needs of society for the Accounting – Auditing industry”.

Attending the conference, there was the presence of

-       Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Luan, Rector of UEL

-       Dr. Hoang Vinh Long, Vice Rector of UEL

-       Representatives of other department of UEL

-       And all staffs of FAA

There was also presence of representatives from:

-       Institute of Corporate Governance

-       Sai Gon University

-       Nguyen Tat Thanh College

-       ACCA Vietnam

-       CPA Australia Organization

-       Smart Train Center

-       Other manufacturing enterprises

-       Alumni of UEL

In order to enhance the quality of undergrad training and educating in accounting and auditing, the conference played an important role in the situation that the business environment and the legal system of accounting and auditing have always developed to catch up with general international standards and to meet the requirements of the current economic development. The conference concentrated on innovating teaching methods and curriculum and enhancing education network with professional organizations such as ACCA Vietnam, CPA Australia in order to improve the academic quality of graduates.

In addition, at the conference, businesses and employers suggested that the university should provide appropriate curriculum, which focus on academic knowledge as well as communication skills of students. Graduating students must have a certain level of English and equip themselves with some soft skills to be adaptable to the professional working environment.
